Hello! My name is Choeun. Today, let’s talk about a topic that affects every one of us: money. While the world tells us that money is for getting whatever we want, the Bible gives us a much more peaceful and rewarding perspective. Managing money biblically isn’t about being rich or poor; it’s about understanding who is really in charge.
The first step to financial peace is realizing that everything you have belongs to God. You are not the owner of your bank account; you are the manager. In the Bible, this is called being a “steward.”
Think of it like being hired to look after someone else’s house. You don’t get to sell the furniture or tear down the walls; you take care of it faithfully because you know it belongs to the owner. When we treat our money as God’s property, it changes how we spend, save, and give.
The Foundational Principles:
Honesty: Always be fair and truthful in how you earn and spend.
Hard Work: God created us to work and use our talents to provide for ourselves and our families.
Planning: A budget isn’t a “money cage”; it is a map. It helps you know where your money is going so you aren’t controlled by it.
Saving: It is wise to set aside money for emergencies and future needs.
Biblical money management isn’t just about holding onto what you have—it’s about having a heart that loves to give. Generosity is the cure for greed. When you give, you are telling yourself (and the world) that your trust is in God, not in your bank balance.
God loves a “cheerful giver.” He doesn’t want you to give out of guilt or because you feel forced. He wants you to give because you are grateful for everything He has given you.
Scripture “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” — 2 Corinthians 9:7
Encouragement Managing money biblically is a lifelong journey, not a quick fix. Some days your financial path will be smooth, and other days it will feel rocky. That is okay! God promises to be your guide. If you have made mistakes with money in the past, don’t let shame hold you back. Today is a brand-new day to start being a faithful manager of what He has given you. Pray for wisdom, ask for help if you need it, and remember that your value is found in your relationship with God, not in your possessions. He loves you, He provides for you, and He is walking with you every step of the way.
Money is a tool, not a master. When you learn to manage it according to God’s principles, you find a freedom that the world cannot give.
Remember who owns it: Everything you have comes from God’s hand.
Be a faithful manager: Use wisdom, hard work, and planning to look after your resources.
Cultivate generosity: Giving breaks the power of greed and invites God’s blessing into your life.
Trust the Provider: You don’t have to live in fear; God knows your needs and promises to take care of you.
Don’t let the love of money control your choices. Instead, let your love for God guide how you handle every dollar. When you prioritize your relationship with Him, you will find a wealth that truly lasts forever.
