Do you ever feel like your life is a constant race? With work, chores, and endless distractions, it is easy to feel like you don’t have a single minute left for God. Many people struggle with this, but here is a simple truth: we usually make time for what matters most to us.
The problem isn’t that you don’t have enough time; the problem is usually that we aren’t being intentional. Finding time for God doesn’t mean adding more stress to your life—it means inviting Him into the life you are already living. Even Jesus, who was incredibly busy helping others, made it a priority to slip away and be alone with His Father.
You don’t need an hour of quiet to have a relationship with God. Try these simple rhythms to help you stay connected throughout your day:
The “Micro-Moment” Approach: You don’t always need a long block of time. Use the “in-between” moments. Pray for a quick second before you start a meeting, read one Bible verse while waiting in line at the store, or just take a deep breath and say, “God, I know You are with me,” during a stressful moment. These tiny moments add up!
Transform Your Chores: Turn everyday tasks into a conversation with God. Pray for your family while you do the laundry, listen to worship music or an audio Bible while you drive, or simply look at the sky and thank God for His creation while you walk to your car.
Schedule It Like an Appointment: You schedule meetings and doctor appointments, so why not schedule time with God? It doesn’t have to be long—even 10 or 15 minutes in the morning or during your lunch break can change your whole outlook for the day.
Use Your Phone for Good: Instead of just scrolling through social media, use your phone to help you. Open a Bible app to read a verse, listen to a worship song, or set a “prayer alarm” to remind you to pause and talk to God for a moment.
End Your Day with Reflection: Before you go to sleep, take three minutes to think about your day. Ask yourself: Where did I see God today? What am I thankful for? What do I need to give to Him before I rest?
Finding time for God is not just about checking a box on a to-do list. It is about training your heart to be aware of Him all day long.
When you start your day with a simple “Good morning, God,” or end it with a “Thank You for today,” you are building a bridge between your daily life and your faith. It doesn’t have to be perfect, and you don’t have to do it exactly like someone else. God isn’t looking for a perfect schedule; He is looking for you. He wants your heart, and He is happy to meet you exactly where you are—even in the middle of a very busy day.
Scripture “Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10
Encouragement If you have been feeling guilty because your “quiet time” isn’t as long as you think it should be, please let that go. God is not keeping score of your minutes. He knows your schedule, He knows your heart, and He loves you exactly where you are. Even if you only have one minute today, give that minute to Him. He is delighted by your desire to know Him. Start small, keep it simple, and trust that He is walking with you through every single busy hour of your day.
Connecting with God is not about finding more time; it is about using the time you have differently.
Start small: Use “micro-moments” to pray or reflect.
Change your routine: Invite God into the chores and commutes you already do.
Be intentional: Schedule a small block of time just for Him.
Keep it simple: Focus on your relationship, not on following a rigid rule.
You are never too busy for God to reach you. Take a deep breath, invite Him into your next task, and enjoy the peace that comes from walking with Him.
What is one small way you could invite God into your routine today?
